Peyton's Playlist
Ever since the death of her mother, Peyton Katz has spent her life taking care of her alcoholic father. Keeping him alive after his diagnosis of alcoholic cirrhosis sixteen months ago has not been an easy task. Keeping him from drinking bourbon has been even harder. As the medical bills began to pile up, Peyton chose to stay home with her Dad and attend community college while working part time at the only pharmacy in town.
On top of that, a traumatic sexual assault occurred a year ago during her senior prom. Peyton tries to forget by maintaining her routine of work, school, caring for her father, and spending time with her best friend, Sammy. It is challenging, but her love of music helps her deal with the flashbacks, panic & anxiety she experiences.
After the assault, Peyton never expected to find herself interested in men again. But the pharmacy gets a new owner, and when sexy, smoldering Lex Kingston walks in, and her life turns upside down. Wary at first, Peyton slowly learns how to trust and believe in Lex. With the help of some friends, Peyton lets her guard down and opens her heart to unexpected love. But when her father takes a turn for the worse, Peyton must learn how to accept help when she needs it most.
